The Early Evening Report consists of the following segments:
Integrated Newscast - A comprehensive account of the hour's top
five U.S. and International News Stories. The Integrated Newscast includes
a short report from one of VOA's correspondents around the globe on either
a major world development or a breaking story of particular interest to
Greece or Cyprus (6-minutes).
America Today - Three separate correspondent reports and interviews
dealing with non-political events in the U.S. Subjects range from meaningful
human interest stories to important scientific, cultural, economic and
social developments in America (9-minutes).
The Late Evening Report consists of the following segments:
Newsbeat - A rich variety of U.S. and International News reports in brief. This newscast is intended to give the listener a quick glimpse of the day's major events (6-minutes).
News Expansioner - An in depth look at one of the day's news stories including actualities or sound bites from the people directly involved (3-minutes).
U.S. and the World - A window on policy makers, such as the President, the Secretaries of State and Defense, Congressional leaders and the press representatives of the White House, the State Department and Department of Defense, outlining U.S. policies toward other countries, regions or multinational organizations and operations (3-minutes).
Today in the U.S.A. - A human interest story from the many that are available daily reflecting new trends or unique characteristics of the multi-faceted American Society (3-minutes).
Special Feature - An exciting story about American, and often Greek-American, accomplishments in the fields of arts and sciences as well as the world of business and finance. Every Friday this feature is used for the presentation of U.S. press opinions on a variety of subjects (4-minutes).
Editorials - Twice weekly, they reflect U.S. official views or
American ideals and institutions (2:30-minutes).
Saturday Broadcasts
On Saturday VOA's Greek Service broadcasts a six minute report on the major economic events of the week, followed by a 14 minute science and technology program that also discusses environmental and health issues:
