Mon. Jan.7
Topic: War’s Dirty Secret
Guest: Anne Barstow, author
The statistical picture of war reflects
the buildings and equipment destroyed and the number of people, soldiers
and civilians who were killed or wounded. That picture has traditionally
failed to reflect violence against women, which in many societies condemns
them to die over and over again. Barstow has edited a book dealing with
rape and other crimes against women, starting with World War II and
continuing through today.
