Axel Henri is a 65 year
old African American . 40 years ago as a young soldier, he began recording
his observations of how black people were treated in American society.
The notes are now a book that chronicles integration in America in
a very personal way. Col Henri will discuss his observations on the
black experience in America.

Today is the 90th birthday
of former president Ronald Reagan. More and more people are living longer
lives, but unfortunately, not necessarily healthier lives. President Reagan
is an example of someone who took care of his health but is never the less
suffering from Alzheimer’s and just recently underwent orthopedic surgery
for a broken hip. Our guests will discuss what we and our families can
do to help create a ‘golden years’ atmosphere for our loved ones.

Powell made the Africa bureau of the State Department his first stop on
his get acquainted tour of the building. Nigeria is now the United States’
fifth biggest supplier of oil while Angola is the eighth. Africa
is obviously as important to the United States as the United States to
Africa. Our guests will discuss the possible changes in this administrations
policies toward Africa and how those changes might be actualized.
