and promotion of core labor standards within the context of U.S. human
rights and international trade policy. The 5 internationally recognized
standards are: freedom of association; the right of collective bargaining;
the elimination of forced labor; the effective abolition of child labor;
and the elimination of discrimination in employment and occupation.
