We will be celebrating VOA's 60th anniversary by talking to the people who have lead the Voice of America. We will be remembering the past and looking forward to the future.

Guests: Frances Moore Lappe, co-founder of two national organizations that 
               focus on food 
              Anna Lappe, co-founder of the Small Planet Fund 

For their book Hope's Edge our guests traveled through five continents searching for the answer to why, as societies, do we create the very inequalities and devastation of nature that, as individuals, we abhor?  We will discuss what answers they found.

Guest:    Dr. Kathleen Ralston, Wellspring Center for Natural Health
The Ralston AIDSTREK will lead into the mountains in the Cederberg Wilderness Area in South Africa. The net proceeds of this journey will benefit scientists at three research centers working on an AIDS vaccine. We will discuss how and why this trek is being put together and the hoped for outcome.

Self-injury can be defined as the deliberate, direct injury of one’s own body that causes tissue damage or leaves marks. This little talked about behavior occurs in all parts of the world. Our experts will discuss what drives a person to do this and what treatments if any, are available internationally.
