As Mr. Ungar  prepares to leave the Voice of America for his new position as President of Goucher College he will join us to talk about his accomplishments at VOA and the challenges that face him in his new position.

Topic: Has Fairness Gone Too Far

Philip Howard believes that Americans worked so hard to protect the rights of the individual, that we have trampled the rights of individuals as members of a society. Today, the people we rely on to make value judgments are afraid  of making obvious choices needed for society to function sensibly. We will discuss how we got to this point in American society.

We will discuss the matrimonial struggles couples of different nationalities face. Marriage across the borders may sound romantic but the challenges face by the couple are daunting. Learning to live in a new country , facing a new culture, political system, economy not to mention mother-in-law. Our guests will discuss their experiences with mixed marriages.

The political and economic unrest in Zimbabwe could make the country ripe for a coup. We’ll discuss the turmoil griping the country, including the possibility that the situation there is worsened by the alleged exploitation at the hands of wealthy nations.

The Netherlands has approved it. Belgium is considering it. Euthanasia ? Should an individual have the right to choose the time of his/her death?  The debate continues in this country and many others. Our guests will talk about both sides of the argument.
