Every year the U-S Institute of Peace sponsors a National Peace Essay contest for American high school students.  More than 3,000 students from across the country participated in this year's contest.  They had to answer this question:  Can Outsiders Help to Bring Peace in Civil Conflict?  We will hear what four of the students concluded and discuss the purpose of the contest with a representative from the Institute.

The conference that is just concluding in New York was aimed at intensifying international action to  fight the AIDS epidemic. We will be discuss the outcome of the meeting and what action will be taken by governments and the medical community.

A new wave of research has begun that has the  potential to reveal the profound value of forgiveness in our lives. According to the campaign directors this is information that could reduce human misery and increase the quality of life worldwide.
