               Dr. Alan Boss, Carnegie Institution of Washington, Department of     
              Terrestrial Magnetism 

KH 15D is a solar-like, pre-main sequence star discovered by an international team lead by Dr.Herbst. This discovery will shed new light on the origins of Earth and our solar system. Alan Boss serves on the primary committee advising NASA about how best to search for extrasolar planets. Our guests will answer questions about their findings and the impact it will have on future space exploration.

Topic: Defusing Dangers that Threaten America’s Security

In his book Unfinished Business Harlan Ullman, U.S. Naval Academy graduate and youngest officer ever to serve as Professor of Strategy at the Naval War College, demonstrates how the events surrounding 9/11 arose from problems America faced at the end of the Cold War and the Gulf War.  He will discuss what those problems are and how they should be solved.

A recent Gallup Poll showed 38 percent of Americans believe that ghosts or spirits can come back in certain situations. 28 percent believe that some people can hear from or talk to the dead, compared with 18 percent 11 years ago. Our guests will debate the now growing popularity of psychics and whether or not they are playing with people’s hopes and emotions.

As 10 more countries negotiate to join the EU in 2004, today’s leaders are grappling with issues of trade, farm subsidies and immigration.  An EU police force has been established to patrol borders and ports of entry as they to join the war on terrorism. Our guests will discuss these issues as well as the EU’s relationship with the United States.

The effects of the recent pedophilia scandal in the Catholic Church not only rocked the Church in America, but has had other implications as well.  The scandal has also forced American society to consider and openly discuss, something that has mostly been whispered about; the practice and victims of sexual abuse.  Sexual abuse takes many forms and can affect people of any age.  We'll identify some of the most common forms of sexual abuse, how victims can be helped and set on the road to recovery as well as the measures required to prevent this abuse and protect the victims.
