  • A new study suggests that Mars, once considered a lifeless planet, may hold up to three times more water than what scientists estimated just recently. Geological features on the surface of Mars suggest it was once very wet and loamy like Earth. Geologist, Laura Leshin has studied the surface of Mars and will discuss how Mars might have looked and why it looks the way it does today

The NAACP is now a network of more than 2,200 affiliates covering all 50 states, its membership exceeds 500,000. The major presidential candidates spoke at the convention. But have things really changed in America for people of color?  Mr. Shelton will discuss the outcome of the convention as well as the reality of life for people of color.

    FilmAid’s mission is to bring feature films, children’s cartoons and other screen entertainment to refugee camps.  FilmAid has also branched out into other services, screening educational films on AIDS and domestic violence. Camp members work as projectionists and technicians. This October FilmAid will be going to Guinea in West Africa.
