Greece, also known as Hellas, is the birthplace of politics as an art and democracy as a form of government. Greece takes on the presidency of the EU in the first half of 2003 while preparing for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. Ambassador Savvaides will discuss the role Greece plays in international affairs and its relationship with its neighbors and the United States.
